Managing Quantity Surveyor

Job Title: Managing Quantity Surveyor (Construction) Location: Cambridge Salary: £95,000 Package The Role -Manage and control the commercial aspects of projects across healthcare, education, and commercial sectors. -Provide accurate financial reporting on individual projects -Collate, review and report financially on other projects within remit -Place subcontracts in line with main contract and company policies -Advise project surveyors on opportunities to maximise value and minimise costs -Monitor subcontractors against programme and provide support on problem areas -Ensure consistent and accurate forecasting -Implement and oversee commercial systems and procedures -Contribute to risk management and advise on effective mitigation strategies -Promote effective communication and team collaboration -Manage performance of direct reports, setting objectives and supporting development -Input into site activities where appropriate The Company -Top 3 UK main contractor with a strong reputation in the residential and commercial sectors -Annual turnover of £4.5b -Delivering large-scale, multidisciplinary construction projects across the UK -Committed to quality, innovation, and compliance -Strong pipeline of work into 2025 and beyond The Ideal Candidate -BSc or HND in Quantity Surveying or related subject -Significant commercial experience with a contracting organisation -Strong knowledge of subcontract procurement and monthly measurement cycles -Understanding of suppliers’ businesses and local market knowledge -Strong organisational, planning and time management skills -Sound knowledge of the construction industry, standards and specifications -Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills What You’ll Get -A Salary up to £85,000 -Company car / Car allowance Travel Paid -Private healthcare -25 days holiday plus bank holidays -Annual bonus scheme / project bonus scheme Process -Apply with your CV -We’ll be in touch to discuss your experience and suitability -If successful, your CV will be submitted for consideration -1–2 stage interview process -Offer and start with a leading contractor delivering high-profile projects
