Assistant Quantity Surveyor Location: Oldmeldrum, Aberdeenshire (Hybrid working available) Salary: Competitive, DoE Private Health 30 Days Holiday Activus Recruitment is delighted to be working on behalf of a well-established, multi-disciplinary construction company who are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to complement their busy commercial team. With over 30 years of experience delivering projects across the UK, our client has an excellent reputation within the industry. Their expertise spans concrete works, civil engineering, main contracting, and design & build, making them a trusted partner for a diverse range of projects. The Role This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and driven individual, ideally with knowledge of civil construction works. The role would suit someone with some previous experience, however full training and support will be provided. Key Responsibilities include: * Preparation of interim valuations * Final account negotiations and settlement * Cost valuation reporting * Identifying and pricing variations * Carrying out regular site visits * Preparation of material requisitions * Liaising with clients and attending client meetings * Analysis of project costs * Managing subcontractor appointments and valuations Personal Requirements * Excellent eye for detail and a comprehensive approach * Experience in reading and interpreting drawings/technical specifications advantageous * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Highly motivated and organised individual * Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines * Understanding of commercial issues advantageous * Competent in the use of computer packages Benefits * Competitive salary (dependent on experience) * Private health care * Attractive benefits package and excellent career development opportunities
