Citrus Production Manager

Minimum requirements: Matric Relevant agricultural qualification (recommended) and has 510 years experience in the full citrus production cycle, with knowledge of irrigation management, crop protection and fertiliser, programmes, as well as practical experience in citrus packhouse management Duties and Responsibilities: Ability to plan, organise and manage, perform effectively under pressure, demonstrate excellent leadership skills, maintain a strong attention to detail, and display an ownership mentality will be key to success. Manage the implementation of strategy Oversee day-to-day operational activities Manage the complete citrus production cycle: Seasonal preparation including pruning, pruning budgets, orchard cleanliness and execution Thinning operations, thinning budgets, fruit set, and associated tasks Planting practices and maintenance Irrigation management and scheduling Pest and disease control Fertilisation programmes Harvesting, maturity indexing, production management, and required planning Administrative responsibilities Orchard sanitation, monitoring, and upkeep Packhouse Management Ensure consistent delivery of quality products Maintain accuracy and consistency across packhouse processes Enforce high standards of health and safety practices Monitor and evaluate productivity Train and manage packhouse staff Ensure accurate administrative management with strong record-keeping focus Forecast and order packhouse stock requirements Ensure compliance with industry quality assurance standards Ensure temperature regulations are adhered to Optimise pack-out percentages Consultant: MERIǪUE GOUWS - Dante Personnel Greenstone
