Assistant Rigging

ASSISTANT : RIGGING X3 (GRADING A) Qualifying Criteria : Grade 11 or equivalent qualification 2-3 years experience in Engineering in a mining or industrialized environment is essential and required Knowledge of mobile crane hand signalling Good knowledge of all rigging / lifting equipment Good knowledge of SWL tags and name plates Ability to work flexible hours and perform standby duties including Sundays and Public Holidays Ability to perform physical activities (equipment and material loading and offloading unassisted, bend, climb etc.) South African Citizenship Responsibilities : Provide efficient support within Engineering rigging Section Assist in attaching loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving, using hand and power tools Assist the rigger in slinging, tie down, low balancing and hand signals to mobile crane operator Assist in ensuring that all lifting tackle is up to standard by visually inspecting chain links, slings and safety catches Assist in erecting, set up, and repair rigging, supporting structures, hoists, and pulling gear, using hand and power tools Ensure that all mechanical lifting equipment such as chain blocks and coffin hoists are lubricated and ready for usage Ensure SWL tags and name plates are visible on all lifting equipment Adhere to company standards, policies and procedures Adhere to MHSA standards & Gold1s safety motto : Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely
