Midwest Compressor Systems is looking for motivated, mechanically inclined individuals to join our Field Services team. Whether you're just starting out or bringing years of experience, we have a place for you. As a Field Technician, you’ll be the boots on the ground—keeping natural gas compression systems running safely, efficiently, and reliably.

What You’ll Do

Depending on your level (I, II, or III), you’ll:

• Inspect, maintain, and repair natural gas compressors
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
• Travel to customer sites and build strong relationships
• Install and commission new units (Tech II & III)
• Use diagnostic tools and interpret technical documents
• Keep your field service truck and equipment in top shape
• Submit daily maintenance reports and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards

Who We’re Looking For

Field Tech I

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Basic mechanical aptitude and computer skills
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours
• Strong communication and customer service skills

Field Tech II

• All of the above, plus:
• 1–2 years of experience with natural gas compression equipment
• Solid mechanical and electrical knowledge

Field Tech III

• All of the above, plus:
• 3–5 years of field service experience in compressors

Preferred Skills (Not Required, But a Big Plus!)

• Industry certifications or training in natural gas compression
• Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) training
• Diesel mechanic or HVAC experience

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 100 lbs occasionally
• Work in loud, hot, and outdoor environments
• Stand, walk, climb, and crouch for extended periods
• Must be fit for duty and able to pass drug screening and background checks

Compensation details: 19-32 Hourly Wage
