Commercial Underwriter

Job Title: Commercial Underwriter Reporting to: Underwriting Manager Seniority Level: Mid Career (3-5 yrs exp) Type: Permanent Duties and Responsibilities: Good knowledge and understanding of the short term insurance industry legislation/regulations/compliance. Receive and finalise instructions from clients, brokers and all other stakeholders, as outlined in agreed service level agreement. Issue policy in accordance with the new business workflow process. Processing of quotes, new business, amendments and client queries. Action renewals, cancellation, endorsements and corrective action. Adhere to all internal and external processes, guidelines, mandates and service level agreements. Client retention. Proactive and the ability to work under pressure. Work independently and as part of a team. Build and maintain internal and external relationships. Maintain the company ethos and values. Required Qualifications: RE 5, FETC In Short Term Insurance NQF 4, Matric, Class of Business Commercial Lines Skills: A minimum of 3-5 years commercial lines underwriting experience, Preferred system experience TIAL Responsibilities, CPD Points
