RN - MedSurg, Trauma, Weekend Option, Sign-on Bonus Available at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital summary: This role is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical and Trauma care in a Level 2 trauma center. The nurse provides comprehensive care to a diverse surgical and trauma patient population, managing a variety of complex medical conditions and post-operative treatments. This position offers full-time days with weekend options and includes specialty pay differentials and sign-on bonuses. Description: Piedmont- ATHENS, GA Med Surg 2: Gen Surg- Trauma Full time Days Weekend Option 7am-7pm shifts WEO & Med Surg specialty differentials Sign on Bonus Available $ The surgery unit has 29 beds. Our dynamic patient population includes surgical, trauma and a variety of medical patients. Our surgeries typically involve the neck to the gut. This population includes GI surgeries such as colon resections, small bowel resections, cholecystectomies and appendectomies. We also care for vascular surgeries, mastectomies, thyroidectomies and maxillofacial procedures, etc. Patients may have an ostomy, NGT and/or other feeding tube and/or drains. Trauma patients may have multiple injuries, chest tubes, a tracheostomy and/or other drains, but have stabilized enough for a non-ICU/step down med-surg floor admission. We are a level 2 trauma center. RESPONSIBLE FOR: The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care. *Patient ratios are determined by various factors, including volume and acuity of patient needs. Extenuating circumstances may determine a need for lower or higher ratios* Qualifications: MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: Graduate of a nursing program MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: New Graduates of a nursing program eligible MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW: Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License. BLS certification required. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable. Bachelor's degree preferred. Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred.
