Job Description Job Description This is an excellent opportunity for a junior attorney to gain hands-on experience in high-stakes litigation, work alongside seasoned trial lawyers, and contribute to impactful legal strategies. A nationally recognized, majority women-owned law firm is seeking a highly motivated Associate Attorney to join its litigation team. The firm specializes in complex legal matters involving scientific, regulatory, and technological issues, and represents major corporate clients across more than 20 states. Position Overview The Associate Attorney will support national litigation efforts, manage case files, draft legal documents, conduct depositions, and participate in hearings and settlement negotiations. The role requires strong analytical skills, initiative, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Develop case strategies and trial themes Draft motions, pleadings, and discovery documents Conduct legal research and risk analysis Take and defend depositions (lay, expert, corporate) Prepare witnesses and support trial preparation Argue motions and participate in hearings and mediations Collaborate with internal teams and co-defense counsel Supervise paralegal work and manage litigation tasks Build and maintain client relationships Meet billable hour requirements and maintain accurate timekeeping Qualifications Juris Doctor from an accredited law school Admitted to California State Bar 2-5 years of litigation experience in a law firm setting Experience in mass torts, class actions, environmental, commercial, or complex litigation preferred Strong legal writing, research, and communication skills Ability to manage deadlines and work under pressure Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with FileVine or similar document management systems preferred Commitment to professional development and client service
