Job Description

Job Title: Interventional Radiology/Cath Lab Technician Profession: Radiology/Cardiology Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Hours (07:00 - 15:30) Experience: 2 Years Required License: Required Certifications: MD License, RT-R ARRT, ACLS, BLS Must-Have: First-timers not accepted Requires Call every other week Holiday coverage every other holiday Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity Description: The position requires expertise in interventional radiology. Daily responsibilities include performing special procedures such as tunneled catheter placements, embolization, and drain placements. Pain management procedures like epidural blocks and radiofrequency ablations are also part of the role. Vascular interventions, including angiograms, thrombectomies, and IVC filters, will be performed. Skills in various procedures including liver biopsies, stent placements, and catheter exchanges are essential. Knowledge of accurate monitoring and preparation of access sites is required. The technician will scrub in to maintain a sterile field during procedures. Familiarity with using advanced imaging equipment is necessary. The role may include working with patients of adults and geriatrics. Additional tasks involve managing and documenting patient information through a specific charting system. This position requires the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and have a strong attention to detail. The candidate must be able to recognize life-threatening arrhythmias. Skills in computed tomography and ultrasound are preferred.
