Interim Asset Finance Lawyer

A niche B2B financial institution is looking to hire an Asset Finance Counsel to join its London-based legal team for a 6-month contract. The UK office is lean and collaborative, with the legal team supporting structured and asset finance transactions across sectors such as medical equipment, energy systems, commercial vehicles, marine assets, and software. Role Overview This role will involve advising internal stakeholders on: Structuring, drafting, and negotiating asset finance documentation (leasing, hire purchase, sale & leaseback, refinancing) Updating and maintaining financing templates and policy documents Collaborating with external counsel on transaction structures Reviewing project finance documentation for syndicated credit facilities Supporting a portfolio that includes both regulated and unregulated assets This is a hands-on, commercially driven role requiring someone who can work flexibly across bespoke transactions and isn’t reliant solely on LMA precedents. What We’re Looking For Mid to Senior asset finance lawyer with strong experience across leasing and structured finance. England & Wales qualified Solictor. Comfortable with bespoke, non-standard transactions Pragmatic, fast-moving, and commercially minded – able to get deals over the line efficiently. Experience with consumer credit regulation is helpful but not essential This role can be in office or mostly remote (within the UK) with a day or two in office as required.
