Operations Manager

Alpha Recruitment are looking for 2 x Operations Managers to start work for a client in Scunthorpe (with travel to client sites as required). Job Description: Operations Manager – Industrial Cleaning & Shutdowns Due to continued growth, an experienced Operations Manager is required to join an expanding team. This pivotal role will oversee Supervisors and field operatives delivering industrial cleaning, high-pressure water jetting, and vacuumation services across major outage and shutdown projects. The company delivers safe, efficient, and cost-effective environmental and industrial services across a range of sectors including energy from waste, steel, cement, food, and petrochemical industries. The Role * Reporting directly to senior management, you will be responsible for: * Leading and supporting Supervisors and site teams during planned outages and shutdowns. * Driving compliance with HSE regulations and ISO-accredited standards. * Coordinating manpower, equipment, and resources to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of projects. * Maintaining high standards of safety, professionalism, and performance across all teams. * Building and maintaining positive client relationships, ensuring communication and reporting is clear and consistent. * Conducting audits, inspections, and quality control checks to maintain operational excellence. * Supporting training, development, and mentoring to strengthen the capability of the supervisory team. Requirements: The successful candidate will be able to lead from the front, set standards, and inspire confidence in both clients and teams. You will need: * Previous experience as an Operations Manager or Senior Supervisor within industrial cleaning, shutdowns, or related heavy industry. * Strong knowledge of high-risk environments (energy from waste, steel, foundries, cement, or similar). * Qualifications such as IOSH, CCNSG Safety Passport, HPWJ Licence, and High-Risk Confined Space (essential/desirable mix considered). * A proven track record of managing multiple teams across complex projects. * Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills. * A full clean UK driving licence.
