Mechanical Services Estimator (Intermediate–Senior) – Hampshire £40,000 to £70,000 (depending on experience) Benefits Career Development Are you a Mechanical Building Services Estimator looking for your next career move? We’re recruiting on behalf of a respected and growing M&E Building Services contractor in Hampshire who can offer a supportive environment, varied projects, and long-term progression. This is a great opportunity for either an Intermediate Mechanical Estimator developing their independence, an experienced Mechanical Estimator running tenders with confidence, or a Senior Mechanical Estimator ready to take full ownership. You’ll be involved in both pre-designed and design & build projects, typically within healthcare and medium-scale commercial sectors valued between £200k and £2m. The Role * Preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for mechanical services projects * Reviewing specifications and drawings, carrying out take-offs, and obtaining quotations * Leading or contributing to tender submissions and bid documentation * Liaising with suppliers, clients, and internal teams * Supporting value engineering and cost optimisation initiatives * (Senior level) Taking ownership of multiple tenders and mentoring junior colleagues The Ideal Candidate * Background in Mechanical Building Services estimating (heating, ventilation, AC, plumbing) * Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage tenders independently * Intermediate Mechanical Estimator: typically 3–5 years’ experience, developing confidence and taking on more autonomy with support * Experienced Mechanical Estimator: typically 6–8 years’ experience, able to run tenders independently and contribute to bid strategy * Senior Mechanical Estimator: typically 9 years’ experience, leading multiple tenders, mentoring others, and shaping bid approach * Numerate, detail-oriented, and confident working in a team environment Salary & Benefits * Intermediate level: £40,000 – £50,000 * Experienced Mechanical Estimator: £50,000 – £60,000 * Senior: £60,000 – £70,000 * Company bonus scheme * Pension options * Phone and laptop provided * 22 days’ holiday plus Bank Holidays (rising annually to 28 days after 4 years’ service) * Supportive working environment with genuine career progression opportunities If you’re a motivated Mechanical Services Estimator looking to progress your career with a stable and growing contractor, we’d be keen to hear from you.
