Job Description

Position: Year 5 Teacher (KS2) Location: Horbury, Wakefield Contract Type: Temporary, Full-time Salary: £110 210 (dependent on experience) Trust Education are currently hiring for a Year 5 Primary Teacher to become part of their team. This is for a role working in a primary school in Horbury, Wakefield. Ideally, we are looking for someone who has prior experience of teaching KS2, in particular Year 5 with strong behavioural management skills. This is an exciting chance for a motivated Year 5 Primary Teacher to make a real impact on KS2 pupils as they prepare for their transition to secondary school. As a Year 5 teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality lessons that inspire students and ensures they are well-prepared for their SATs and future academic success. You will play a key role in helping the pupils at the school, grow academically, providing a nurturing environment where every child will flourish. Year 5 Primary Teacher Responsibilities: Have a proven track record of raising attainment in a Year 5 class and have evidence to back this up. Plan and deliver lessons that meet the needs of all the pupils in Year 5. Create and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment to prepare pupils for the end of KS2 SATs. Establish relationships with Year 5 pupils, encouraging their confidence, independence, and social development. Work closely with colleagues form across KS2 and SLT. Supporting SEN pupils, to ensure they thrive alongside their peers. Maintain high standards of behaviour in line with the schools policies and procedures. Use a variety of assessment methods to track and support pupil progress. Be able to identify gaps in pupil learning and manage to narrow this. Year 5 Primary Teacher Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching in KS2, ideally in Year 5. A deep understanding of the Year 5 curriculum and SATs requirements. A passion for teaching, with the ability to engage and inspire children. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with pupils, parents, and colleagues. Flexibility and a positive attitude towards team collaboration. Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and manage time effectively.
