Job Title: Financial Controller Salary:£70,000£80,000 Role: Permanent Location: Office-Based | Warrington An established SME in Warrington is looking to appoint a Financial Controller to lead and develop the finance function during a pivotal period of growth and change. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a senior leadership role with full ownership of the day-to-day finance operation, team management, and strategic support across the business. The right person will bring a balance of commercial thinking, strong technical knowledge, and a hands-on approach This role offers a genuine opportunity to influence how finance is embedded across the business improving controls, driving clarity in reporting, and partnering closely with other departments. Key Responsibilities: Full ownership of the finance function, including cash flow, month-end, and reporting Review and improve financial systems, controls, and processes Lead and support a small finance team Work closely with the MD to provide financial insight and shape business decisions Ensure reporting is timely, accurate, and commercially useful Identify risk, create structure, and drive accountability across the function What were looking for: Proven experience in a Financial Controller or similar senior finance role Strong leadership skills and a collaborative, hands-on style Commercially astute with a process-driven mindset Comfortable working in a fast-paced SME environment Experience supporting businesses through change or transition is highly beneficial Package: £70,000£80,000 depending on experience Office based Warrington Permanent, full-time This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance leader who wants to build something that lasts and play a key role in a business thats serious about getting finance right.
