Job Title: Quantity Surveyor – Groundworks & Civils Location: Kent (Remote/Hybrid working available) Salary: £60,000 – £75,000 Bonus Opportunities Company Overview A well-established, family-run groundworks and civil engineering company based in Kent is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its growing team. Operating since 2007 with a turnover of £4 million, the company delivers projects ranging from £10k to £2 million and is known for quality, adaptability, and long-term client relationships. As part of their next growth phase, they are looking for a commercially minded, hands-on QS who can contribute across multiple areas of the business. About the Role This is a varied and dynamic position where you will manage the financial and contractual aspects of projects, while also being involved in estimating, client visits, and business development. The role suits someone who thrives in a flexible environment, enjoys relationship-building, and takes satisfaction in seeing projects through from pricing to final account. Key Responsibilities * Manage commercial aspects of groundworks and civils projects * Prepare valuations, variations, cost reports, and final accounts * Handle subcontractor and supplier packages * Produce estimates and support tendering processes * Visit clients to discuss projects, build relationships, and support ongoing work * Contribute to business growth through networking and identifying opportunities Candidate Requirements * Experienced Quantity Surveyor in groundworks or civil engineering * Strong commercial acumen and contract knowledge * Solid estimating and pricing skills * Confident in client-facing responsibilities and relationship-building * Self-motivated, able to work independently * Comfortable with a mix of home working, site visits, and client meetings Bonus Opportunity The company offers a bonus for any work the Quantity Surveyor secures independently—ideal for someone with industry contacts or an entrepreneurial mindset.
