Senior Legal Counsel

A leading Insurance organisation is looking to hire a Senior Legal Counsel to join the team. This role will provide legal support and advice to functions such as IT, Finance, HR, Operations and Facilities, with a particular focus on the drafting, review and negotiation of supplier contracts. Core Duties and Responsibilities: Provide legal support and advice to various functions across the business. Lead the drafting, review and negotiation of supplier contracts Work cross-functionally with teams across the business to provide comprehensive legal support across the contract lifecycle. Implement and maintain robust contract review and other relevant processes to identify and mitigate commercial, legal, regulatory, and other risks. Overall responsibility for leases and other property-related legal matters, intellectual property and data privacy matters. Line management responsibility for two team members. Qualifications, Skills and Experience: Solicitor qualified in England & Wales (or equivalent); 8 years PQE. Excellent technical legal skills and demonstrable experience of having applied them in a private practice and/or in-house legal environment (preferably within insurance or wider financial services). Strong drafting and negotiation skills, with sound judgment and commercial awareness. Ability to effectively manage workload, to plan and prioritise accordingly, and to meet tight deadlines, whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy, attention to detail and accountability.
