Job Description

The Opportunity: Due to increased expansion, our client, a leading civil engineering contractor are looking to add a CAD Technician to their project design team in the beautiful area of North Wales. Your duties and responsibilities will be: Producing and/or amending information and graphical 2D drawings in accordance with the client or HTUK standard methods, procedures and manuals. Manage the drawings and issue electronic and hard copies of drawing and design documentation. Manage the design cloud services and CDE for the Project using (ProjectWise/Themis/ACC) Supporting the Project team in delivering beneficial outputs from the Information model (i.e. space proofing, clash detection, 3D models, 4D schedules, Quantity take-offs, still images) Preparing drawings and models to demonstrate the viability of the design and construction proposals. Supporting the Design Manager executing the successful delivery of a BIM Project including 2D & BIM Execution Plans. Creating 2D drawings and ensuring the appropriate file attributes are captured correctly. Ensuring the appropriate file attributes are captured correctly by others providing drawing and BIM information to the Project. Producing and/or amending information in accordance with the project plans Ensuring graphical models (which they produce) are spatially coordinated (clash avoidance); escalating any interface issues to the Design Manager / BIM Coordinator Ensuring all elements of the Information Model are fully coordinated with each other. Submitting information for approval in accordance with the BEP Manage the design CDE for HTUK (Setup and managed by permanent works designer. Understand the health, safety and welfare principles of setting up safe worksites when preparing site layout plans. Consider and comment on health, safety or welfare issues identified within drawings or models they are working on and ensure SHE issues are coordinated across models and drawings 5.4. Ensure drawings and models are prepared in accordance with stated QA standards Ensure the quality of data and information is in accordance with stated standards Ensure environmental impacts and aspects are adequately considered within the drawings and models produced Ensure sustainability issues are stated on the drawings including biodiversity and carbon emissions You will have the following qualifications & experience: Knowledge of construction activities and infrastructure projects. Applied knowledge of BS/PAS/ISO and their processes. Knowledge of infrastructure design processes. Identify, interpret and apply required industry/ client/ internal CAD/BIM standards. Project delivery using the core 2D/3D CAD applications of AutoCAD with knowledge of Bentley systems. It’s great if you also have the following Experience with BIM and Revit is advisable.
