Senior Accountant

Location: Berkshire Type: Permanent Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 Per Annum Orka Financial is recruiting for a Senior Accountant to join their clients expanding team in Reading. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, eager to learn, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider team. (ACCA/CIMA study support - hybrid working model) Key Responsibilities: Managing day-to-day accounting tasks. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations across all nominal accounts. Prepare and post journals in line with financial reporting requirements. Finalise management accounts, including preparing insightful commentary for internal and client review. Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with HMRC regulations. Assist in the preparation of financial statements for corporate entities, LLPs, and consolidated groups. Complete FCA regulatory returns accurately and on time. Act as a liaison with external auditors and manage the upload of required documents to various systems. Communicate regularly with clients through virtual meetings and face-to-face interactions. Mentor and support junior team members. Collaborate closely with your Client Services Manager, with additional support from a collaborative and experienced team. Handle ad-hoc tasks and projects as needed to support team and client requirements. Skills & Experience 2 years’ experience in a similar accounting role. ACCA/CIMA studier Confident in preparing management accounts independently. Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook. Accounting systems such as Xero.
