Leading a team of hardworking Warehouse Operatives, you will hold responsibility for the smooth operation of our Warehouse function on the AM shift , ensuring our delivery crews are loaded up to deliver the best service for all our customers. Main Responsibilities As Warehouse Shift Manager, you will be responsible for all under the roof activities organising the safe and efficient storage and movement of goods to our customers (final mile), clients (inbound and returns) and hubs/outbases (carousel and trunking). Duties will include: Overall responsibility for operating a safe and efficient warehouse operation working with the business to ensure goods are in the right place at the right time Leadership and development of the warehouse team ensuring a successful flow of goods movement through the warehouse Development, achievement, and continuous improvement of under the roof KPIs Effective resource planning to ensure we have the right staff and tools to complete the job Ensuring the warehouse operates safely, within legislation, policy, process and industry best practice Develop and maintain continuous improvement programmes such as warehouse flow, equipment and waste and engage other internal stakeholders to share best practice Develop and manage the warehouse budget and stock inventory Ensure effective asset/equipment management Work with internal stakeholders in facilities and procurement to ensure on-site equipment is fit for purpose and regularly serviced/maintained Build relationships with relevant 3rdparty providers (for example agencies, FLT suppliers etc) The Ideal Candidate With the amount of applications expected for this position, we will only be able to proceed forward with candidates who match our essential requirements stated below: Experience of managing teams, within a customer focused and fast-paced warehouse environment Knowledge and experience dealing with first line people management issues (absence, performance, and investigations) Good working knowledge on Microsoft Systems as this role uses various Microsoft packages including Outlook, Word and Excel Ability to analyse and utilise Management Information to identify areas of improvement and drive change Ability to understand and interpret financial data to manage and improve resource costs Strong people skills able to influence, coach and develop Knowledge of RedPrairie WMS is an advantage
