Accounts Assistant (Practice)

Anderson Knight is delighted to be working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice based in Glasgow , who are currently seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their team on a full-time, office-based basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and detail-driven finance professional to join a dynamic and client-focused firm, offering a supportive environment and long-term career potential. Key Responsibilities: Managing bookkeeping duties for a portfolio of clients across various industries Preparing and submitting VAT returns in line with Making Tax Digital requirements Providing comprehensive payroll services , including auto-enrolment and RTI submissions Assisting in the preparation and submission of personal and business tax returns Ensuring compliance with HMRC deadlines and statutory requirements Liaising directly with clients to gather information and provide ongoing support Maintaining accurate records using cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage Requirements: Experience working in an accountancy practice environment is essential Solid understanding of bookkeeping, payroll processes, VAT regulations, and tax return preparation Proficiency in accounting and payroll software Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced office environment AAT qualified or working towards a professional qualification is desirable What’s on Offer: Competitive salary of £27,000 - £30,000 , depending on experience Office-based role with a friendly and collaborative team Long-term development opportunities within a reputable and growing firm Ongoing training and professional support If you're a motivated Bookkeeper looking for a new challenge within a reputable accountancy practice, we’d love to hear from you.
