Job Title: Engineering Manager – (Controls & Automation) Location: Warwickshire, United Kingdom About the Role Our client is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Controls & Automation division, a team of 30 talented engineers working across complex and high-impact projects. This is a senior leadership role that requires both strong technical expertise in controls and automation systems as well as proven leadership and stakeholder management skills within the UK engineering market. As the Engineering Manager, you will provide strategic direction, ensure technical excellence, and drive delivery across multiple projects, while serving as a key interface with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 30 engineers across controls, automation, and related disciplines. Set technical direction and ensure high standards in the design, implementation, and integration of automation and control systems. Act as the primary point of contact for customers and external stakeholders, translating technical detail into clear, solution-focused discussions. Oversee project execution, ensuring alignment with quality, safety, and regulatory standards. Drive best practices in OT cyber security within control and automation systems. Support business growth through technical input into proposals, bids, and customer presentations. Manage budgets, resources, and timelines across multiple concurrent projects. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team. About You Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role within the UK market. Strong technical background in controls and automation systems (PLC, SCADA, DCS, or related technologies). Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire large engineering teams (30 people). Solid understanding of OT cyber security principles and their application in control systems. Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance technical and business priorities. Degree in Electrical, Control, Automation, or related Engineering discipline.
