We are proud to be working with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), a renowned charity with a mission to inspire and educate the nation about gardening and the environment. The RHS is a diverse and dynamic organisation, with a focus on both organisational development and cultural change. As part of their ongoing commitment to fostering an inclusive and engaging workplace, they are now seeking a Diversity, Inclusion & Engagement Lead to join their People team. The Role: The Diversity, Inclusion & Engagement Lead will play a central role in driving forward RHS's Diversity, Inclusion & Engagement agenda. Working closely with senior leaders and colleagues across the organisation, you will oversee the delivery of the RHS Diversity, Inclusion & Engagement Plan, ensuring it is integrated into the fabric of everyday operations, leadership, and decision-making. This is a strategic role, with a strong focus on hands-on delivery, where you’ll be responsible for developing tools and frameworks to embed inclusive practices across the organisation, supporting the People team in shaping a culture of inclusion that enhances the RHS experience for employees, volunteers, and visitors alike. Key Responsibilities: Lead the D&I Strategy : Drive the delivery and embedding of the RHS Diversity, Inclusion & Engagement Plan, ensuring it aligns with the RHS strategy and cultural change objectives. Cross-functional Collaboration : Work closely with the People Operations & Systems team to integrate D&I principles into all people policies, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and good practice. Programme Delivery : Partner with Learning & Development to design and implement targeted D&I initiatives, driving awareness and inclusion at every level of the organisation. Tools & Resources : Develop and maintain tools and frameworks to help embed D&I across RHS (inclusive language guides, audits, etc.). D&I Steering Group Support : Assist the Diversity, Inclusion & Wellbeing Steering Group in overseeing the success of divisional D&I action plans and provide guidance on areas for improvement. External D&I Advocacy : Offer expertise on external-facing D&I issues, such as accessibility for visitors and inclusive experiences at RHS shows and events. Data & Reporting : Collect, analyse, and report on D&I data to inform strategy and decision-making, including reporting on pay gaps and other diversity metrics. Financial Management : Oversee budgets related to D&I initiatives, ensuring value for money and adherence to financial guidelines. External Relationships : Build and maintain relationships with key D&I professional bodies, community groups, and external forums. About You: To thrive in this role, you will be an experienced D&I professional with: In-depth knowledge of D&I practices and legislation. Proven ability to influence and engage with senior stakeholders across an organisation. Experience developing and implementing D&I initiatives and change programmes. Strong communication and relationship-building skills, including report writing and presentations. Data-driven approach to assessing D&I initiatives and progress. Additional Information: Travel: Occasional travel to RHS sites, which may involve overnight stays.
