Board Trustee

McBride Sport Board Search are delighted to be partnering with the Somerset Cricket Foundation (SCF) to support the identification and appointment of several new Trustees to their Board. The Somerset Cricket Foundation is a dynamic charity rooted in Somerset, dedicated to making cricket inclusive, accessible, and meaningful for all ages and communities. Through strong partnerships, extensive programmes, and a robust network of clubs, teams, and competitions, it fosters both the love of the sport and the well-being of communities across the county. We are seeking individuals with previous experience and understanding of the roles and responsibilities of being charity Trustee who have a background and experience in Finance and/or Audit and could contribute to or chair a board committee in future. Additionally, we are seeking experienced Trustees who bring a focus across board business. You may also have expertise in digital, community, partnerships, and health outcomes, which is desirable but not essential. With income having doubled in the last four years and set to rise still further in the next few years, the opportunities for further development of SCF’s outreach and the effect that can have, particularly in the more deprived parts of the county and some of the most disadvantaged in society, is enormous. SCF take pride in their relationships with the county club, as well as local delivery partners; the established partnerships of the ECB, Chance to Shine and the Lords Taverners; and an increasing number of local and regional sponsors and donors with whom we develop specific targeted and measurable programmes in the community. This is an exciting time to join the SCF Board, in the context of their track record of performance and success, as well as the recent appointments of Chair, Jayne Mee, and Managing Director, Maralyn Smith. All connected to the Somerset Cricket Foundation believe that they have a great opportunity to lead the foundation into the next phase of its growth and development.
