Design Engineer

Design Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer / CAD Engineer required to join a mechanical engineering business near Bedford. The Design Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer / CAD Engineer would suit someone with a Degree, HND or HNC in Mechanical Engineering and experience in 3D CAD, mechanical design, rotating equipment, mechanical assemblies, or similar. Youll design mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD, create 2D drawings and BOMs, and support new product development and bespoke project work. The role will include design for manufacture, performance calculations, and supporting documentation. Package: Up to £50,000 depending on experience 25 days holiday plus bank holidays Pension scheme Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm, Friday 8am to 1pm Training and development opportunities Key Responsibilities: Design mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD (NX, Inventor or AutoCAD) Produce detailed 2D drawings and BOMs Carry out calculations and support FEA and FMEA analysis Support development of new and existing products Create technical reports, manuals and specifications Work to ISO 9001 and design for manufacture standards Office based near Bedford Requirements: Degree, HND or HNC in Mechanical Engineering or similar Mechanical design experience as a Design Engineer / CAD Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer or similar 3D CAD experience NX, Inventor or AutoCAD Knowledge of rotating equipment, mechanical assemblies or engineered components preferred Understanding of FEA and DFM principles Commutable to the office near Bedford
