Job Description

Junior Design Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer / CAD Engineer required to join a mechanical engineering business near Bedford. The Junior Design Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer / CAD Engineer would suit someone with a Degree, HND or HNC in Mechanical Engineering and 23 years experience in 3D CAD, mechanical design, rotating equipment, mechanical assemblies, or similar. Youll support the design of mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD, produce 2D drawings and BOMs, and assist with product development and project-based design work. The role will include design for manufacture, performance calculations, and technical documentation. Package: Up to £38,000 depending on experience 25 days holiday plus bank holidays Pension scheme Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm, Friday 8am to 1pm Training and development opportunities Key Responsibilities: Design mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD (NX, Inventor or AutoCAD) Produce 2D drawings and Bills of Materials for manufacturing Support calculations and assist with FEA and FMEA analysis Assist in the development of new and existing products Create technical documentation, manuals and specifications Work to ISO 9001 and design for manufacture standards Office based near Bedford Requirements: Degree, HND or HNC in Mechanical Engineering or similar 23 years experience as a Junior Design Engineer / CAD Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer or similar 3D CAD experience NX, Inventor or AutoCAD Knowledge of rotating equipment, mechanical assemblies or engineered components preferred Understanding of FEA and DFM principles beneficial Commutable to the office near Bedford
