Job Description

AI Engineer 6-month contract (extensions highly likely) £480-£520 per day Outside ir35 Remote contract We're looking for an experienced AI/ML Engineer to help our Central Government client build high-performance machine learning systems and cutting-edge AI features. You'll work with technologies like LLMs, OCR, object detection, and cloud-native deployments , contributing to scalable, production-ready solutions in a collaborative, agile environment. What You'll Do: Build and deploy ML models using Transformers, PyTorch, YOLO, OpenCV , and more. Work with LLMs, image analysis, and object detection in real-world applications. Design and optimize APIs using FastAPI and integrate with external systems. Deploy scalable AI systems using AWS (Lambda, S3, SQS, EKS/ECS), CDK , and modern DevOps practices. Collaborate on infrastructure and data pipelines using SQLAlchemy, Boto3, Pandas, and Airflow . Contribute to real-time AI services , model versioning, and advanced fine-tuning (LoRA, QLoRA, etc.). AI Engineer requirements: Solid Python skills (3.9) with deep knowledge of async, OOP, and performance tuning. Hands-on experience with LLM fine-tuning , image processing, and ML libraries. Experience building and maintaining cloud-native AI/ML services . Familiarity with Agile development , TDD, and infrastructure-as-code.
