Financial Controller

Harrison Davies Partners are currently recruiting exclusively for a Group Financial Controller for a Lancashire based listed business going through an extensive period of change. Responsibilities of the role include: Oversee daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger. Streamline the month-end close process through standardisation, automation, and data accuracy improvements. Ensure accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP & IFRS. Manage inventory and costing, ensuring correct valuation and reporting. Conduct variance analysis and deliver insights on performance and key drivers. Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard financial integrity. Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting to support decision-making. Collaborate with auditors and tax advisors for statutory compliance. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 3–4 accounting professionals. Partner with senior management on strategic initiatives and financial planning. Drive process improvements and automation across finance operations. The candidate will have the following experience: Extensive accounting/financial management, with ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualification. Strong knowledge of UK GAAP & IFRS. Experience in inventory management and costing. Excellent communication skills — able to explain complex data clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders. Strong business partnering ability with General Managers and leadership teams.
