Junior Buyer

Purpose and objectives of the role Form part of a small team, who are responsible for the procurement of electronic /mechanical components in accordance with the manufacturing requirements for a diverse product range including medical and aerospace applications. The primary objective is to ensure that all daily purchasing activities are completed in a timely manner. Main duties and responsibilities Responsible for On-Time Delivery of components and other materials to support production Placing/expediting orders with suppliers in line with the MRP system Assisting with RFQs from suppliers. Working closely with suppliers; monitoring and reviewing KPI’s Work with internal stakeholders to meet customer demand, escalating any issues. Review production shortages and overdue purchase orders. Maintain accurate records of the cost, quality and performance of materials purchased All employees may be required to carry out other tasks as necessary for the business. These tasks will be appropriate to their skills and experience and will not be unreasonable. Qualifications No formal qualifications required Good standard of Education Skills Problem Solving skills Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have strong attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel Experience within a fast moving manufacturing role and MRP Experience Previous experience is preferred but not essential as full training is given.
