Mechanical Fitter

Job Title: Mechanical Fitter Reporting To: Site Manager Seniority Level: Mid Career (4 - 6 yrs exp) Type: Contractor Job Purpose To perform skilled fitting work, including the installation, assembly, maintenance, overhaul, and repair of heavy mechanical machinery and equipment in a mining and/or power plant environment. The role requires a high degree of technical skill, a steadfast commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively under pressure to ensure maximum equipment availability and reliability. Key Responsibilities Mechanical Maintenance and Repair: Installation and Commissioning: Health, Safety, and Compliance: Administrative Duties: Minimum Requirements Trade Qualification: Red Seal Trade Test Certification as a Mechanical Fitter (Section 13 or 26D of the Mine Health and Safety Act). Qualification: N4 Mechanical Engineering or Technical Certificate. Experience: Minimum of 3 years post-apprenticeship experience as a Mechanical Fitter in a heavy industrial environment, specifically within the mining and/or power generation industries. Legal Requirements: Technical Skills: Proven experience with precision tools, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and alignment techniques.
