Customs Sr Specialist

Job Summary: The Senior Customs Specialist - Import is responsible for managing and ensuring compliance with customs regulations related to import operations within the automotive industry. The role involves coordinating import procedures, preparing and reviewing customs documentation, and working closely with customs authorities and logistics partners to facilitate smooth and efficient import processes. Key responsibilities: ▪ Manage customs clearance procedures for importing automotive parts, components, and finished vehicles. ▪ Ensure full compliance with local and international customs regulations, automotive import policies, and company standards. ▪ Prepare, review, and submit all necessary documentation for customs compliance, including invoices, bills of lading, permits, and import declarations. ▪ Collaborate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies to expedite clearance processes. ▪ Monitor changes in customs laws, tariffs, and trade agreements affecting automotive imports. ▪ Conduct internal audits of import transactions and maintain accurate records for compliance and reporting. ▪ Provide guidance and training to internal teams on customs regulations and best practices related to automotive imports. ▪ Resolve any customs-related issues or delays efficiently to avoid supply chain disruptions. ▪ Support cost optimization initiatives related to tariffs and import duties.
