Mine Manager

Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage all open cast mining operations to achieve production and safety targets. Ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act, environmental standards, and other regulatory requirements. Develop, implement, and monitor mine plans, budgets, and schedules. Manage and coordinate the workforce, including contractors, to ensure efficient operations. Oversee maintenance of mining equipment, ensuring maximum availability and efficiency. Monitor production data, costs, and performance, and report on progress to senior management. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, productivity, and cost control. Maintain strong stakeholder relationships, including with regulatory bodies, suppliers, and local communities. Requirements: Degree/Diploma in Mining Engineering or related field. Mine Managers Certificate of Competency (Open Cast). Minimum 810 years experience in open cast mining, with at least 5 years in a senior management role. Strong knowledge of mining legislation, safety regulations, and best practices. Proven track record in achieving production and cost targets in large-scale mining operations. Valid drivers license. High level of technical knowledge in open cast mining methods and equipment. Strong financial acumen and budgeting skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
