Short-Term Underwriter

Our client, a respected and growing leader in the insurance sector, is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Short-Term Underwriter to join their dynamic team in Bloemfontein. Minimum requirements Matric RE5 and or NQF 5 qualification, will be advantageous Non-smoker Fluent in Afrikaans and English 1–4 years' experience in an administrative or insurance-related role Valid driver's license and own vehicle Willing to grow within a brokerage environment Willing to work overtime or to start early when necessary Must be able to provide consistent and timely feedback Must be able to work under pressure Skills required Attention to detail Accuracy Analytical Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Multi-tasking Deadline driven Excellent client service Telephone etiquette Duties and responsibilities (not limited to) Processing policy renewals Making amendments to existing policies Requesting quotations Personality traits: Strong personality: must be able to stand their ground and negotiate for favourable outcome Must be comfortable spending the majority of the day on the phone Must be able to take initiative and think ahead regarding next steps Work hours Monday - Thursday: 08:00 - 16:30 Friday: 08:00 - 16:00 Remuneration R 8 000 - R 11 000 (negotiable depending on experience and qualifications) IMPORTANT: Applications close 12 September 2025 If you do not receive feedback within 14 days, your application is unsuccessful Only applications submitted via the Ditto Jobs platform will be considered Only candidates who meet all our client's minimum requirements will be contacted
