Job Description

Burke, Scolamiero & Hurd, LLP is seeking a skilled civil litigation attorney to join our team in the heart of New York State. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a collaborative firm known for its high-volume defense work and seasoned trial lawyers. What You'll Do: Handle civil litigation matters-primarily personal injury defense-from case inception through resolution Work collaboratively with a dedicated team (each case assigned to two attorneys and one paralegal) Draft and analyze detailed reports evaluating liability, damages, legal strategy, and case progress Prepare and argue motions, conduct discovery, take depositions, and attend court conferences (virtual and in-person) Negotiate settlements when appropriate Advise clients and colleagues on legal options and case strategy What We're Looking For: J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the New York State Bar Minimum 2 years of civil litigation experience (personal injury or defense preferred) Strong written and oral advocacy skills Experience or interest in medical malpractice defense is a plus Why Join Us: Supportive, team-based litigation model Competitive compensation with room to grow Full benefits package Opportunity to do meaningful, high-impact legal work Job Type: Full-time Pay: $75,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Retirement plan Schedule: Day shift Ability to Commute: Albany, NY 12205 (Required) Ability to Relocate: Albany, NY 12205: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
