Category Analyst

A leading UK multi-channel FMCG retail and wholesale business is looking to recruit a Category Analyst (Trading Analyst) to play a key role in supporting decision-making by delivering accurate, insightful data analysis for the Commercial Team. The company are an award-winning business and a major player in the retail and wholesale sector, and this will be a key appointment in their quest to continue their success. About the role Working with the Category Management Team, you will be responsible for the creation and distribution of performance-related reports and dashboards that will assist in co-ordinating data-driven development projects. Using your analytical capabilities, you will support the Commercial and Category Management functions, providing insight based on analysis of consumer behaviour, and make recommendations to influence business decisions that maximise the business’ return on investment. This will be achieved by your ability to take raw data and turn it into actionable insight, that you will then be able to communicate and present to key decision makers. About the Person This would suit someone with experience in a Category Analysis, Category Insight or Category Planning role in a Retail, Wholesale or FMCG environment. You will have excellent IT skills, ideally having used SQL, Power BI or equivalent, underpinned by the ability to evaluate large amounts of data and present information in a way that will create actionable insights. You will have excellent project management, organisational and planning skills, and be able to use your strong communication skills to influence both internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
