First Brands Group is hiring for a Engineer SMED for our Manufacturing plant in Juárez Chihuahua. POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Process Engineer defines, analyzes, and improves manufacturing processes. This role participates in production planning, defines and controls production times for manufacturing processes by optimizing them and making them more efficient, collaborates with the Quality department to ensure compliance in manufactured products, and contributes to organizational strategies through resource optimization. To achieve this, the engineer applies the Deming PDCA cycle, agile frameworks such as Scrum, and lean quick-changeover techniques (SMED) within the industrial environment, while promoting the use of data and statistics to drive improvements, increase productivity, reduce costs and waste across processes, and add value for both the customer and the business. RESPONSIBILITIES: Collaborate with all departments to support process improvement initiatives aimed at reducing time and waste. Plan, execute, and measure process improvement results. Generate cost savings by eliminating waste (SCRAP). Manage data analysis to develop continuous improvement initiatives. Significantly reduce tool and equipment changeover times to enable leaner production. Identify internal and external activities that can be executed on cutting, graphic, and printing machines to speed up model changeovers. Define and maintain 5S Safety programs. Perform activity analysis using data collection methods from the first correct piece to the first correct piece of the next model. Develop and update work instructions and visual aids. Participate in the analysis/definition of standardized work for indirect personnel. Request and quote materials and services to support operations (visual factory materials, tools to streamline processes, necessary furniture or equipment). Implement and maintain KANBAN systems and/or raw material or finished goods supermarkets where required. Maintain and update plant layout whenever process changes occur, including the required documentation for approval. Ensure personnel safety during coordinated activities, maintain assigned work equipment in good condition, and ensure proper use. Responsible for product quality as it relates to their function. Participate in, comply with, and enforce Quality Systems (IATF 16949/ISO 9001/ISO 14001). Understand and promote the plant’s Environmental Policy, including established goals, identification of environmental aspects and impacts in assigned processes, focus on continuous improvement, compliance with operational controls, and proper handling, identification, and segregation of chemical materials and waste. REQUIREMENTS Education: Process Engineer, Mechatronic Engineer, Mechanic Engineer, Electronic Engineer or similar Language: Advance English, able to speak and understand conversations. Experience & Skills: 3 years in a similar position. Ability to lead personnel in a continuous improvement culture focused on set goals (Required). Experience in SMED, PFEP, Lean Manufacturing, KANBAN, and supermarkets is a plus. Knowledge of quality systems and control procedures (documentation and process analysis methodologies) (Required). Familiarity with Agile tools (Scrum). SAP Materials Management experience is a plus. Certification in Lean Manufacturing is a MUST Knowledge of 5S Safety systems. Good management practices through lean approaches such as Lean Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, SMED, and Kaizen (Required). Advanced MS Excel knowledge (Macros). AutoCAD knowledge in LayOuts 2D.
