Job Role: Assistant Accountant Location: Wolverhampton Salary: £32,000 - £38,000 Pro Rata Part time - 3 days per week Initially for 6 months - with potential to go permanent This position also offers an excellent benefits package including the following: 22 days basic annual leave plus bank holidays The scope to further develop your career in a growing business. The Role: This is an exciting and dynamic role for an experienced candidate to develop their skills and have direct input to all aspects of reporting and process improvements throughout the business. Reporting to the Finance Manager your role will cover all aspect within the finance department and be a direct support to them by providing support to the existing team and managers across the wider business. The varied role will include month end and ad hoc reporting as required and assisting in producing management accounts, variance analysis and reporting to each division using Xero accounting. Monthly journals including accruals, prepayments and depreciation, and petty cash reconciliation. You will also be responsible checking the monthly payroll for 250 using Sage 50 Payroll. Be a leading person in developing new systems and processes to improve efficiencies within the department. Supporting the team in daily purchase and sales ledger. We are a medium size business who has grown and the role will be varied and be working in a team of 3 to ensure all financial tasks are covered efficiently and on time. This would suit a candidate who is looking for a role that offers a varied workload in a busy and growing business. Requirements for the role: Ideally you will be AAT qualified or studying towards qualification and have experience working in a finance department in a small to medium size company covering all aspects of finance and payroll. You will need good accounting software skills, strong attention to detail and organisational skills. Key Responsibilities: Assist Finance Manager in preparation of monthly Management Accounts Journals, prepayments, accruals Oversea monthly payroll Petty cash processing and reconciliation Fixed Asset control and depreciation KPIs and other internal and external reports Sales invoice processing Credit control Providing advice and guidance to operational managers to ensure efficient operation of the business while maintaining compliance with relevant policies and procedures Experience: 5 Years Finance department Payroll from start to finish using Sage 50 Accounts processing using Xero Month end processes Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications: Part Qualified - AAT/ACCA/CIMA Sage Payroll 50 Xero MS Excel Analytical Interested?
