Senior R&D Engineer

Job Summary As a Senior R&D Engineer, you will work closely with technical experts and leadership to develop, implement, and evaluate engineering solutions to key challenges. You will take technical ownership of critical subsystems that impact clinical performance, user experience, and device safety. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams and external partners to drive progress on our advanced wound care platform. Key Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and testing of the wound care platform in line with international regulatory standards. Collaborate with regulatory, manufacturing, clinical, and external teams to ensure feasibility and compliance. Conduct material selection, prototyping, and performance evaluations. Develop and execute validation and verification protocols. Analyse data, troubleshoot issues, and implement performance improvements. Stay current with regulatory and quality standards (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA). Support intellectual property efforts and assist with patent applications. Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative R&D environment. Ideal Profile Bachelors degree or higher in engineering or natural sciences (or equivalent). At least 5 years of experience in R&D and product design within the medical device industry (Class IIb or III ideally). Flexible, goal-oriented, and reliable with strong self-motivation. Comfortable working in a small team and independently. Demonstrated experience in device design, testing, and validation. Strong understanding of experimental design and statistical analysis. Familiarity with medical device regulatory pathways and standards. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
