Job Description
Symbiotic Talent is delighted to be partnering with a pioneering biotech company who are committed to sustainable, scalable, and ethical innovation. We are seeking an experienced company accountant to work for an initial period of 6 months with a view to a permanent role once funding has been secured. This role is hybrid (2-3 days a week in the office). Key Responsibilities Financial Operations Maintain and reconcile general, purchase, and sales ledgers Manage bank reconciliations and ensure accurate cashbook entries Cashflow Management Monitor and forecast cashflow to support operational and strategic planning Prepare regular cashflow reports for senior management Management Accounting Produce monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis Support budgeting and forecasting processes Provide financial insights to support departmental performance reviews VAT and Compliance Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with HMRC guidelines Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and internal controls Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors as needed The Person ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or finalist) or QBE Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within a growing SME Strong understanding of UK GAAP and VAT regulation High attention to detail and accuracy Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Passion for sustainability and innovation
