Join us as Country Controller to take your career to the next level. Make your mark in Finance Our Finance team plays an essential role in maintaining a healthy balance sheet at AIG. It delivers significant finance support for the overall enterprise, optimizing operations, controllership, funding, and capital structure to honor our stakeholder commitments. The team’s work is invaluable to informing leadership decision making, complying with regulatory requirements, and maintaining financial discipline, transparency, and controls, while providing timely and meaningful information. The responsibilities for this role include : Ensuring the timely and accurate reporting of USGAAP results for the branch, including managing communication and monitoring adherence to the periodic close calendar by Accenture and local finance teams. Providing USGAAP subject matter advice, including ensuring consistent implementation of accounting policy changes. Maintaining the quality of USGAAP ledger postings, monitoring the use of SAP code blocks and charts of accounts. Monitoring and reporting on the progress and quality of balance sheet reconciliations across all entities in the branch. Supporting the transformation of the Controlling teams to achieve increased data quality in the ledgers, reducing manual intervention through process improvements. Producing and supporting queries for all Local GAAP regulatory reporting, local tax processes, and audits. Coordinating the preparation of country statutory returns, liaising with local finance teams, outsourced professional services (EY), and Accenture. Acting as the contact point for External Audit (PWC), Actuarial, Risk, and Tax teams regarding USGAAP controllership financial reporting topics and issues. What we’re looking for : Postgraduate experience in a “Big 4” accounting firm and/or relevant corporate or business finance role in a complex, multinational corporation. Proven controllership experience within an insurance organization. Experience with finance projects or transformations. Technical accounting expertise with understanding and interpretation of US GAAP and European GAAPs. Fluent in English and Italian. Graduate Qualified Accountant or equivalent. Prior experience in a multinational organization with a varied geographical scope and matrix reporting structure is preferred. About AIG American International Group, Inc.
