Procurement Manager – Commodities (Oils & Fats)

We are seeking a strategic commodities sourcing leader to manage a high-value oils & fats portfolio for an international food manufacturing group. This is a pivotal role - you will be responsible for driving competitive advantage through market insight, risk management, and supplier partnerships. What you’ll do : Lead strategic sourcing for €130M annual oils & fats spend across global production sites Manage supplier relationships, contracts, and negotiations to secure value and mitigate risk Oversee a small team delivering transactional buying, price analysis, and reporting Build a procurement centre of excellence near Milan, embedding best-in-class practices Take physical positions with suppliers, applying strong commodity trading skills Travel (~25%) to key supplier and plant locations What we’re looking for : 8 years’ experience in oils & fats sourcing, trading, or refining (food production or related commodity sector) Strong global market knowledge and proven ability to “beat the market” Skilled in strategic sourcing, complex negotiation, and supplier management Analytical, commercially astute, and able to influence across geographies Fluent English; Italian highly desirable If you thrive on strategic procurement, global market dynamics, and delivering value beyond cost savings, this is an opportunity to make a measurable impact in a critical spend category.
