Job Description
Duties Serves as a Child and Youth Services (CYS) Assistant Director of a large CYS Program, assisting the supervisor in program operations according to applicable regulations and standards. Ensures staff follow risk management procedures, monitors adult / participant ratios, and prepares work schedules to meet staffing requirements. Participates in the Installation Child and Youth Evaluation Team to ensure compliance with safety, health, fire, and facility standards. Supervises and evaluates employees, providing recognition or disciplinary actions as needed. Assists in developing the program budget, managing areas within budget, and analyzing variances. Requirements Direct Deposit and Social Security Card are required. Meet all qualification, eligibility, and background requirements. A one-year probationary period may be required. Complete and sign DA Form 3433 prior to duty. Possess an official No-Fee Passport and Mission VISA. Be a citizen eligible under country SOFA. Complete all pre-employment checks, including a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation. Successfully complete the Crime Control Act. Maintain satisfactory performance, training completion, and on-the-job competency. Willingness to travel to on and off-post locations. Provide a current health assessment demonstrating good mental and physical health, free from communicable diseases, and up-to-date immunizations, including annual influenza vaccination. Routine contact with children is required. Wear PPE as required, especially considering COVID-19 protocols. Qualifications Successful completion of an undergraduate degree with at least 24 semester hours in relevant fields such as child development, early childhood education, or related areas. Alternatively, a combination of education and experience is acceptable. Highly qualifying criteria include : At least 2 years managing a CYS Child Development Center or similar DoD CDC program for children aged 0-5. Experience with NAEYC accreditation processes. Transcripts must detail course information; failure to provide this may affect eligibility.
