Your Job Georgia-Pacific is looking for a talented leader to fill the role of Manager, Purchasing and Stores at its Containerboard manufacturing facility in Monticello, MS. The ideal candidate has both strategic and tactical purchasing and inventory experience, as well as proven supervisory experience. The person should also have a track record of creating value through building strong working relationships with a diverse group of customers, a principled entrepreneurial mindset, and the ability to build a capability that delivers a supply chain with an optimized total cost of ownership to operations. This role currently has three direct reports, and five indirect reports, with a continuously growing team. Our Team Georgia-Pacific’s Strategic Sourcing & Procurement (“SS&P”) organization is responsible for the strategic category management, sourcing, and procuring critical supplies and materials supporting over 140 locations across the US. The organization is undergoing an exciting transformation to improve decision-making and capture spend and efficiency opportunities, aligning with Georgia-Pacific’s continuous transformation efforts. This is a great time to be part of a growing team shaping the future of SS&P! What You Will Do Manage and lead direct reports, fostering an inclusive environment and building a high-performing team. Leverage team strengths and adjust strategies to maximize results. Align team activities with SS&P vision, operations, and transformation initiatives. Contribute to strategic business responsibilities as assigned by senior management. Ensure disciplined operations in sourcing execution and procurement processes. Manage spend against defined strategies and financial controls. Develop strong internal and external partnerships to support strategic initiatives. Lead procurement professionals to excellence in stewardship. Support purchasing and inventory departments to be disciplined, reliable, and aligned with asset maintenance and operational support. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) 3 years of purchasing management experience. 3 years of supervisory experience. Experience in procurement transformation, implementing changes, root cause analysis, and corrective actions. What Will Put You Ahead Bachelor’s Degree. Experience with ISO standards, 5S, and Lean Six Sigma. Experience evaluating spend and improving procurement processes in manufacturing.
