This role is ideal for a nurse with strong Med-Surg and telemetry experience who thrives in a busy, team-focused hospital setting. Unit Details: 38-bed Medical-Surgical Telemetry Unit Typical patient ratio: 6:1 (7:1 stretch ratio at night) Day shift staffing: Charge RN, 6–7 RNs, 1 LPN, 3 PCTs, 1 unit secretary Night shift staffing: Charge RN, 6 RNs, 1 LPN, 2–3 PCTs, partial HUC coverage EMR: Cerner Powerchart Equipment: Baxter IV pumps, wound vacs, SCDs, prima-fits Responsibilities: Provide direct nursing care for patients on a Med-Surg Telemetry unit Monitor patients’ cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately Start peripheral IVs, perform dressing changes, and other standard medical-surgical procedures Collaborate with physicians, other nurses, and the care team to deliver safe, effective care Accurately document patient care in Cerner EMR Float to other Med-Surg units or ED holding as needed Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to help others Requirements: Active RN license in North Carolina or Compact State BLS certification (AHA or equivalent) Minimum experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing required Strong teamwork, flexibility, and communication skills Charge nurse experience preferred Schedule: Full-time travel or contract role Every other weekend required (or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule) Travelers float before permanent staff Navy, white, or navy/white combination scrubs required Why Join: Join a supportive team on a busy Med-Surg Tele unit Consistent schedule with clear staffing ratios Opportunity to gain valuable experience in a collaborative hospital environment eTeam Inc Job ID 26000198.
