Job Description Job Description Med/Surg RN – 12-Hour Nights (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) Deaconess Midtown Hospital – Evansville, IN Facility & Unit Overview Facility: Deaconess Midtown (Teaching Hospital) Location: Evansville, IN Unit Type: Medical-Surgical Unit Size: 41 beds Support: CNA support and experienced unit leadership Patient Ratios: Nights: 1:6–7 Days: 1:4–5 Contract Details Start Date Options: 8/25 or 9/8 (bi-weekly orientation) Contract Length: 13 or 20 weeks Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week (48 accepted by request) Overtime: Paid after 52 hours on 48-hour contracts GSA Hours: Not guaranteed during orientation or holiday unit closures Holiday Rotation: Every other holiday Weekend Requirement: 3 weekends per 6-week schedule Shift & Float Info Shift: 12-hour Nights (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) Float Requirement: First to float within skillset May float to: Deaconess Newburgh (IN) – 8 miles Deaconess Henderson (KY) – 11 miles 2-hour notice for cross-campus float Mid-shift float within same campus possible Cross-campus mid-shift float is unlikely , but possible Required Credentials License: Active compact RN license – must be attached upon submission Certifications: AHA BLS – Required AHA ACLS – Required NIHSS – Required Experience & Skills Minimum Experience: 3 years strong Med/Surg experience 2 prior travel assignments Trauma Level II facility experience Recent EPIC charting experience (checkoff required) Required Skillset: Remote telemetry Chest tubes NG/PEG tubes Straight cath & Foley Ostomy care Heparin drips Blood product administration Tracheostomy care PCA pump management Strong critical thinking & assessment Must be adaptable, hardworking, and team-oriented Other Key Notes Auto Offer – No interview required Local Radius Rule: No candidates within 40 miles of the facility Scrubs: No competing health system or agency logos allowed Teaching Hospital: May be required to precept students or new hires COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required (subject to change) Attendance Policy: 3 call-ins may result in termination Company Description Founded by Marine veteran Jared DeRuby, our mission is to support frontline workers and medical facilities in navigating the complexities of healthcare staffing.
