Nationwide Therapy Group is seeking a travel Pharmacist for a travel job in Aurora, Colorado. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Pharmacist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Collaborates with the Director of Pharmacy to compound and dispense medications and pharmaceutical supplies upon receiving written prescriptions from physicians. Participates in hospital Performance Improvement plans. Consults and advises Administration, Medical Staff, and hospital staff on quality, regulatory, and risk issues. Serves as a consultant to all clinical and medical staff. Coordinates and implements pharmacy activities under the Director’s guidance. Interprets medication orders, compounds, and dispenses medications in compliance with legal, ethical, and professional standards. Supervises pharmacy technical support staff. Assists with clinical, quality management, and educational programs. Provides pharmaceutical care for patients aged 18 to 65 (adult and geriatric). Maintains and disseminates drug information through in-service education, patient consultations, and medical staff support. Assists other pharmacists and technicians with routine duties when necessary. Directs activities and provides professional/technical guidance to pharmacy personnel. Exercises professional judgment in providing therapeutic and drug information to patients and healthcare professionals. Capable of entering at least 40 orders per 4-hour shift. Generates required reports such as Pick I.V. and production reports. Performs backup procedures accurately. Assists technicians with technical tasks and ensures aseptic techniques are maintained. Recycles products appropriately. Checks technician-prepared products before release. Ensures I.V. refrigerator temperature and hood cleaning logs are maintained. Fills orders accurately with correct medication. Prioritizes STAT, Now, and Waiting orders by urgency. Reviews patient profiles for safe and appropriate drug therapy—avoiding therapeutic duplication, significant drug interactions, and allergic reactions. Confirms medication appropriateness based on patient height, weight, age, renal function, and disease state. Ensures pharmacokinetic dosing is appropriate, interprets levels, modifies doses as needed, and documents progress notes per protocol. Calculates fluid, electrolyte, and caloric needs when required. Monitors formulation appropriateness and clarifies controversial orders with physicians. Stays current on new drugs and proper additive sequences. Maintains accurate syringe and vial counts. Labels containers correctly, including auxiliary labels, and completes packaging. Maintains pharmacy and controlled substances security. Communicates pending problems or callbacks to staff. Prepares unit-of-use dosages when possible. Keeps the Director informed on workload status. Ensures all orders are completed in proper sequence and time frames. Must have an active Colorado Board of Pharmacy license Must have BLS certification Minimum 3 years recent hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
