The nurse will be responsible for the care of infants, including level II NICU admissions and normal newborns. The role involves attending vaginal and cesarean deliveries as well as high-risk deliveries. Additionally, the nurse will manage CPAP, BiPap, feeding tubes, and syringe pumps. The staffing ratio is typically 1 nurse to 3 infants. Travel nurses are not expected to care for mother-baby couplets unless they possess the necessary skills and competencies.
