Pay Information $2,130 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year required License: Valid state license required Certifications: BCLS required; Chemotherapy certification preferred Must-Have: - Experience with administration of chemotherapy - Ability to interpret telemetry readings - Previous experience with central line and implanted line care Description: This position is for a registered nurse specializing in oncology. The role involves managing and treating patients undergoing bone marrow transplants and chemotherapy. The nurse will administer chemotherapy and manage complications related to blood cancers. A patient ratio of 4:1 is expected for all shifts. This role requires floating within the service line and covering every other weekend. Candidates are expected to pass an EKG examination for telemetry interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Nursing experience in a medical/surgical setting for at least one year is mandatory. Oncology experience is not required; training will be provided for oncology and chemotherapy patients. Interdisciplinary support will include physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. The facility supports various patient diagnoses including leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and complications from blood cancers. This is a fast-paced environment with an average daily census of 30 patients in a 32-bed unit. Candidates should be familiar with electronic charting systems, specifically EPIC. All travelers are required to comply with health and safety regulations.
