SHEQ Specialist - Port Elizabeth

RPO Recruitment is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced SHEQ Specialist to join our clients team in Port Elizabeth. This is an exciting opportunity for a compliance-driven professional to play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing safety, health, environmental, and quality standards within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities: Ensure company compliance with OHS Act, NEMA, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 standards. Conduct regular site inspections, internal audits, and risk assessments. Facilitate incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions. Lead and coordinate SHEQ training, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns. Monitor SHEQ performance indicators and submit monthly reports. Maintain and improve the Integrated SHEQ Management System. Assist with external audits and ensure audit readiness at all times. Promote a strong safety-first culture throughout the organization. Requirements: Matric / Grade 12. National Diploma or Degree in Safety Management, Environmental Science, or a related field. SAMTRAC / NEBOSH certification highly advantageous. ISO 45001, 14001 & 9001 internal auditor qualification required. Minimum 35 years' experience in a SHEQ role within a manufacturing or industrial environment. Strong understanding of South African SHEQ legislation and compliance standards. Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills. Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
