Factory Technologist

A leading food manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Factory Technologist to join their dynamic Cake Department in Kommetjie, Western Cape. Responsibilities Oversee the daily operations in the Cake Department to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards. Conduct regular product quality checks and address deviations promptly. Assist with new product trials, process improvements, and innovation projects. Ensure adherence to hygiene, health, and safety protocols across production processes. Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues. Maintain accurate documentation of quality control procedures and results. Provide training and guidance to production staff on best practices and quality requirements. Requirements National Diploma/Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or a related field. Proven experience in a food manufacturing environment, preferably within bakery or confectionery production. Strong knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, ISO). Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive and hands-on approach. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-moving production setting. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
