Our hotel is pet friendly and welcomes trained pets. JOB SUMMARY At the St. Regis Rome, we are looking for a Director of Travel Industry. Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Director of Travel Industry is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the hotel's relationship with the travel industry, including travel agencies, tour operators, corporate travel managers, and key industry partners. This role requires a deep understanding of the luxury hospitality sector and the ability to develop and implement strategies to attract high-value guests. The Director will lead efforts to create tailored travel experiences, promote the hotel in key travel markets, and drive revenue through strategic partnerships, all while maintaining the brand's luxury standards and exceptional service. CORE WORK ACTIVITIES Directs the property's Travel Industry Sales function, verifying that client expectations and production goals are met. Analyzes market information using sales systems and implements strategies to achieve financial room goals for the respective markets. Works with management to create and implement a sales plan addressing revenue, customers, and the market for the segment led by the Director of Sales (DOS). Develops and maintains strong relationships with top travel agencies, tour operators, and key accounts. Responsible for consortia relationships and execution of contractual agreements. Participates in special projects/events such as site inspections and FAM trips. Plans and participates in sales trips and industry-related meetings. Participates in departmental sales meetings, operational meetings, and pre-conventions. Conducts sales calls with team members to acquire new business or close deals. Supports operational aspects of booked business. Partners with marketing to plan and execute marketing programs promoting the hotel as a travel destination. Develops and implements sales and marketing strategies for the Travel Industry and Corporate segments. Develops and executes annual sales & travel plans for all direct reports. Monitors competitors and industry trends, recommending strategic adjustments. Identifies and develops new business opportunities proactively. Manages relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Monitors and reports on travel industry account performance, providing insights for strategy improvement. Maintains a CRM system with updated contact and booking trend data. This role is crucial for positioning the hotel as a preferred choice for luxury travelers through strategic relationships and business development. It involves frequent travel to key markets and industry events. Key Skills Strong relationship-building with travel industry and corporate clients. Proven sales, partnership, and key account management skills. Deep knowledge of luxury hospitality and travel distribution. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate across departments to implement initiatives. Market awareness and strategic adaptability. Highly organized, results-oriented, and flexible. Willingness to travel frequently. Excellent presentation and customer service skills. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel Management, or related field. At least 4 years of senior sales leadership experience in luxury hospitality with a proven revenue growth record. Existing client relationships in North & South American high-end travel markets, especially with luxury agencies and networks like Virtuoso, Signature, Internova, and STARS. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, capable of mentoring and managing transient business. Excellent decision-making, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Italian and English; Spanish and Portuguese are a plus. Advanced computer skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and internal systems like Opera. The St. Regis Rome is hiring!
